Memorial Weekend has been wonderful! Great weather, great friends came to visit and we were full at the Inn most of the weekend! We are getting return customers that are coming back because of a good experience from a earlier visit. Thank you.

It is so great to be outside in the sun again. We had a “no snow” winter so hopefully we can have a warm and early spring! The snow is gone leaving much raking and lawn repair to do.
We are looking forward to a lot of groups staying with us this spring and summer here for family reumions, golf outings, weddings etc. Mushrooming will start in a few weeks and we have a lot of visitors from other States then. Make your reservations soon if you need to book several or all the rooms for your summer event!

It went from a cool summer to cooler fall. The maples have turned colors but the oaks continue to stay green. This has been a strange year! But as we pick up summer flower pots and picnic tables, we look forward to snowmobile and skiing season which will be here soon. We have had a wonderful summer with lots of new poeple discovering what a great place 9 Oaks Inn is to hold a family reunion, family shower, golf outings etc. We had two golf outings this season and it was great to visit with old and new friends while even the weather cooperated and was perfit for an October outing. Make your reservation now for snowmobiling between Christmas and New Years!

Well, we finally have summer and heat! It was such a cold spring I said I would not complain about the warmth but enjoy it fully! Father’s Day weekend we sat on the beach at Beautiful Higgins Lake and enjoyed it so much. The water was fairly warm–for those of you not familiar with Higgins, it is usually very cold as it is such a deep lake. You can walk out so far in the water and still see the nice sandy bottom. What a treasure for this area in Northern Michigan!
Mushrooms are starting!

We have been finding some of the elusive mushrooms this past week. With todays sunshine (Friday, May 8th) I sure there will be lots to hunt for in the next few days! Nothing better!!!
Family reunions and parties at Beaver Creek Township Park

We have some reservations for family events this summer, those that will be in town for weddings, family reunions at the Beaver Creek Township Park and some just coming to the area between Grayling and Roscommon to visit friends. We have a great backyard for barbeques and a huge fire pit with plenty of firewood to sit around in the evening and tell stories! There are charcoal and gas grills also for your use.
Ausable River and Manistee River Canoeing

Our kids paddle on the beautiful Ausable River all winter, but for the rest of us, now is the time to start thinking about a nice float down the river in a canoe or kayak in the spring or summer. If you or a group of friends, maybe your church group, club or whatever group you belong to, would like to spend a day on the river, then come back to our backyard to cook out and enjoy an evening around the camp fire. Let us know what weekend you would like to come.
